- ASHWORTH GASIFIER - COMBUSTOR™
ClearStack's multi-pollutant reduction Ashworth Gasifier- Combustor is a three-stage gasification-combustion technique that reduces the major air pollutants (NOX, SO2, Hg, other metal air toxics and particulate) associated with coal combustion. Limestone is added with the coal to capture sulfur and mercury in the slag and fly ash produced. This technology is protected under U.S. Patents #5,458,659, #6,085,674, and #6,325,002. - STAGE3 - CYCLONE™
ClearStack is developing a gasification-combustion technique for cyclone boilers. The technology like the Ashworth Gasifier-Combustor is based on the use of three stages of combustion air, the third of which is overfire air (OFA). Limestone is added with the coal to maintain good slag fluidity. This staged combustion technique will effectively reduce NOX emissions from cyclone units at very low capital and operating costs. This technology is protected under by U.S. Patents #6,085,674 and #6,325,002. - CLEARGAS™
ClearStack Combustion Corporation is developing a trimming dry scrubber to remove SO2, and NOX and improve electrostatic precipitator performance at low capital and operating cost. This technology is protected under by U.S. Patent #6,363,869.
